Two German web designers have released a proof of concept for what they are billing as the "first HTML5 magazine." Although that claim might be somewhat dubious - Sports Illustrated, among others, have already taken a stab at the title - their project is an impressive demonstration of the slick user experience that developers can create in HTML5, and shows its potential for delivering to a cross-device viewership.
“Don’t get us wrong, we love the App Store. But in our world, magazines are press content, not software,” says one of the designers, Nico Engelhardt. He adds that, “we don’t want a big company to decide whether our content is allowed to be published or not” in a dig at Apple's sometimes draconian app approval policies.
