Google launched another impressive WebGL-based project this week. Their WebGL Search Globe is a 3D render of the Earth, visualizing Google searches across the world indexed by language. An alternate set of data maps population across a number of years.
Google has also opened the door to additional uses of this model, open sourcing the code for the project, and encouraging developers interested in experimenting with WebGL to incorporate their own sets of data into the project.
