HTML5 Editor

Despite the burgeoning popularity of HTML5, WYSIWYG tools for HTML5 and CSS3 animations have been slow to arrive. First, we had Sencha's HTML5 Animator, which, although somewhat limited in its capabilities, offered a very well-designed, easy to use interface for creating CSS3 animations. Now, app development shop Tumult have arrived with a similar piece of software, Hype 1.0.

According to the company, Hype is aimed at "designers wanting to add effects to their sites, Flash developers who need the capability to make content for iOS devices, and HTML5 coders looking for more effective ways to improve interactivity." The software makes use of a keyframe-based animation technique, so it should be easy for Flash users to pick up. It is also powered by the browser engine Webkit, ensuring that "what users see is what they get in the browser when making use of advanced CSS3 styles."

More info is available at Tumult's site.
